Graduate Medical Education programs in the Division of Cardiology
- Cardiovascular Fellowship - This three-year ACGME-accredited program provides a broad foundation in clinical cardiology, including inpatient and outpatient care, non-invasive imaging, cardiac catheterization, and consultative cardiology. Fellows are prepared for board certification and subspecialty training, with access to a wide spectrum of cardiovascular pathology and research opportunities.
- Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship - This one-year ACGME-accredited program offers advanced training in the management of patients with end-stage heart failure, durable mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac transplantation. Fellows work alongside multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care, including at Arizona’s leading transplant center.
- Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship - A two-year ACGME-accredited program that equips fellows with expertise in the diagnosis and management of cardiac arrhythmias. Training includes advanced procedural skills in electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation, and device implantation in high-volume EP labs. The faculty are widely involved in clinical trials that shape societal guidelines and medical practice, offering fellows exposure to cutting-edge research and evidence-based care.
- Interventional Cardiology Fellowship - This one-year ACGME-accredited program provides in-depth training in diagnostic and interventional procedures for coronary artery disease, including complex PCI. Fellows participate in high-acuity cases and gain experience with the latest techniques and technologies.
- Structural Heart Disease Fellowship (Non-ACGME) - This advanced, non-ACGME fellowship offers focused training in structural heart interventions, including TAVR, MitraClip, and other transcatheter therapies. Fellows train in cutting-edge procedural environments with experienced interventional faculty, gaining expertise in patient selection, imaging, and procedural management.
- Residency Training - Residents and students also have the opportunity to learn from the best through personalized elective rotations including the inpatient academic consult service, CCU, and a variety of sub-specialty outpatient clinic experiences. Clinical sites include Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix and the Phoenix VA Medical Center, thereby offering full breadth and depth of educational opportunities.
