- Active in National Collaboratives – One of the original ACGME Educational Innovations Project programs, Dr. O’Malley is on the ACGME IM Residency Review Committee, Faculty leaders in Teaching Quality, iCOMPARE Study site, Milestone-based assessment multi-centered trials, faculty developed the ACP High Value Care curriculum, etc.

- Committed to Resident Wellness – Coaching program, social activities, retreats, FLEX and FOCUS day programs to allow schedule flexibility and days off (i.e., for doctors’ appointments, fellowship/job interviews, illness, special family and religious events, conference travel, etc.), faculty role models.
- Career Development and Preparation for Fellowship Applications – Research collaboration, away rotations, interview preparation, CV/resume preparation.
- Leadership and Teaching Skills – Students on every team, workshops to enhance teaching, Housestaff council elected positions, positions on hospital committees, ACP membership for all residents, Banner Resident Leadership Development course.
- Resident involvement in Program Improvements – We have four program improvement teams per year and an active residency housestaff council. Residents provide feedback in many ways to drive change in our program.
