Research Focus
As an integral part of an academic medical center, the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix focuses on advancing the intersection of research, education and clinical care. This tripartite approach combines leading-edge research, innovative and personalized instruction, and patient-centered care to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
We are tackling contemporary and significant problems to accelerate health care in translational neurological and psychiatric disorders, cancer and cardiovascular disease. By leveraging relationships with our clinical affiliates, local health care providers and private organizations throughout the world, we are accelerating interdisciplinary collaboration and transformational leadership in these areas. From building organs on a chip, to developing a diagnostic test for schizophrenia, our translational research discoveries and clinical trials lead to solutions that directly impact patients’ lives.
Our focus is on delivering precision medicine, and we are honored to participate in the All of Us research Program from the National Institutes of Health, to create the largest health database from which researchers can conduct studies and gain insight to change the future of health care.
