Underserved or Rural Requirement Policy

It is the policy of the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix to support the training of physicians who will care for rural and underserved communities throughout Arizona and beyond. The College of Medicine – Phoenix also supports training for all physicians that fosters an understanding of the health care needs and challenges of these populations. To achieve these goals, the College of Medicine – Phoenix requires all its medical students to complete greater than 50 percent of third year rotation weeks in such a setting.
