The Division of Rheumatology at the University of Arizona – Phoenix delivers outstanding, high-value clinical care to patients across the greater Phoenix area, while educating the next generation of specialists and advancing the field through innovative clinical research.

Established in 2006, the clinic is one of the most well-established rheumatology practices in the Valley. The team includes five rheumatology providers with extensive expertise in managing complex and difficult-to-treat rheumatologic diseases. Care is grounded in evidence-based, patient-centered and compassionate principles, with an emphasis on individualized treatment plans. High priority is placed on patient satisfaction, efficient clinical workflows, advanced imaging for early diagnosis and seamless access to infusion services.

The clinic offers specialized musculoskeletal ultrasound services that support early diagnosis of inflammatory rheumatologic conditions and provides comprehensive inpatient consultation services for hospitalized patients.

The division maintains a strong academic focus, with recognized leadership in medical education and synovial tissue research, supported by clinicians with more than two decades of experience. Learner engagement is actively supported for trainees from the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, as well as learners from other regional institutions. Planning is currently underway to launch a Rheumatology Fellowship Program, with a target start year of 2027.
