Brief Bio
Dr. Edmond (Shie-Liang) Hsieh, M.D., D.Phil., is an internationally recognized immunologist and physician-scientist with extensive expertise in innate immunity, host–pathogen interactions, immune checkpoint biology, and translational immunology.
He received his M.D. from National Yang-Ming Medical College in Taiwan, his D.Phil. from the University of Oxford, and completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hsieh currently serves as Director of the Immunology Research Center at the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan, and has made pioneering contributions to the discovery of immune receptors involved in infectious and inflammatory diseases, including CLEC5A, CLEC2, and CD33-mediated immune regulation.
His current research focuses on macrophage reprogramming, regenerative immunology, therapeutic antibody development, and innovative strategies for treating chronic inflammatory and fibrotic diseases.
