Built on a foundation of dedication to patient care, scholarly activity and graduate education, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the college is rapidly growing.
At the heart of the department is the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute, where physicians who are leaders in their fields have the opportunity and resources to treat a variety of patient conditions. The involvement of graduate education and a large volume of academic research allows for advanced patient care that benefits from the most modern medical advancements.
Our department’s faculty are recognized both nationally and internationally as leaders in their respective fields. With faculty subspecializing in orthopaedic trauma, joint reconstruction, sports, spine, as well as hand and upper extremity, our patients and staff benefit from a department of diverse training and backgrounds.
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery also manages the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at the UA College of Medicine – Phoenix. This program supports a proud tradition of academic research and annually presents and publishes dozens of research projects both locally and internationally.
