- Stay home and do not come to campus if you are sick or have symptoms outside of your baseline! This continues to be the most important way to protect your patients and peers.
- Symptoms that exclude you from attending your clinical rotations are as follows:
- Temperature of 100.4 or greater.
- Respiratory Symptoms (dry cough, shortness of breath, sore throat) that are not attributable to seasonal allergies or a chronic diagnosis.
- Extreme fatigue, muscle aches, diminished sense of smell or taste, etc.
- GI symptoms, such as diarrhea.
- If you are sick, follow the normal protocol for absences.
- Students should not care for patients confirmed, or with any symptoms suspected to be COVID-19. If there is an inadvertent exposure, students should follow the Student Occupational Exposure instructions (aka Blue card).
- You should use your own mask and face shield for entry to the clinical site.
Each clinical site will have different guidelines for PPE. You should not participate in any activities for which the CDC recommends an N95 mask (PDF). We recommend you wear the same PPE as your clinical team. Please ask your site for specific information.
Eye protection is required. Please wear protective eye/safety goggles or you may wear a face shield.
