At this point in our training there are increased opportunities for elective rotations. There is slightly more flexibility in Internal Medicine electives by the nature of current ACGME requirements.
PGY-3 Residents entering a predominantly Internal Medicine year (8 of 12 months on IM) will see more elective time in the PGY-3 year.
PGY-3 Residents entering a predominantly Pediatric year (8 of 12 months on Peds) will see more elective time in the PGY-4 year.
Expected rotations in the final 2 years of training include:
- Internal Medicine:
	- IM Wards Senior inpatient (4 months)
- Banner MICU Senior (2 months)
- Adult Elective rotations (5 months)
- Banner University Geriatrics
		- Geriatrics will occur in the final IM block of residency as a PGY-4
 
 
- Geriatrics will occur in the final IM block of residency as a PGY-4
 
- Pediatrics:
	- Phoenix Children’s Wards Senior (4 months)
- Pediatric Elective rotations (3 months)
- Phoenix Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- Phoenix Children’s Community Outreach/Advocacy Elective (Outpatient Peds)
- Phoenix Children’s Pediatric Emergency Medicine
		- Return to PCH PEM occurs in PGY-3
 
- St. Joseph’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Senior
		- NICU senior occurs in PGY-3
 
- Valleywise Health Community Health Center (Outpatient Peds)
