The four-week Neurology Clerkship is designed to teach medical students the principles and skills needed to recognize and manage the neurological diseases that a general medical practitioner is most likely to encounter in practice. Implicit in this is the ability to recognize the problems of the nervous system that require specialty neurological consultation.

Students will learn to perform a thorough neurologic history and physical examination by the completion of this rotation. The role of the faculty and housestaff is to provide guidance, stimulation, support and example. Students will be divided among services at Barrow Neurological Institute and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix (formerly Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center).
